2022 Awards and Publications:

March: Any Other Way won a 2nd HM in the Dr. Lily Peter Memorial Award competition.
February: Scary Scarab won a first-place award in the Arkansas Writers' "Pen Us a Tale" contest. The poem Weather-Related Joy will be published in the summer issue of eMerge! The Young Adult Romance Coffee Date was published, as was the book of poetry Aha! and Ha-Ha. 
2021 Awards and Publications:

My article "The Barnum Forer Effect" was published in the February issue of psychology newsletter Cognito.

In the 2021 Norman Galaxy of Writers Contest, I won the following: 1st place, Short Story, Take My Word for It, Obvi; 2nd place, Novel, A Piece of the Puzzle; 3rd place, Children's Fiction, Close Call; 3rd place, Nostalgic Essay, Children of a Lesser Brand; and 3rd place, Nonfiction Feature Article, To Beep or Not to Beep.

My article on writing was published in the February issue of Writers Monthly. I was also on the cover of the magazine.

January: Story What Kind of Person Am I? was published in the OWFI publication The Report.
March: 5 haikus published in Pebbles magazine; Poem I Thought I'd Feel Older published in Writers Monthly.
April: Article What Do You Think of Life Coaches? published in Incognito; Book I Cooked; Therefore, They Ran featured in the  column Okie Writers in The Country Connection News. 
June: My poem "Heads Bowed, Eyes Down" appeared in Writers Monthly.

Acceptance into the prestigious World Literature Today intergenerational writing workshop, led by Cuban American writer Archy Obejas. Only four adult students were accepted into the program. (Unfortunately, I was unable to attend).

Oklahoma State Fair Online Photo Competition: Agriculture Category, 1st Place, "Photo of a steer" (Photo was exhibited in the Creative Arts Center at the fair).

PHOTOS: Three photos were published in mphoto.

May: American Bar Association Caption Contest, Lisbeth McCarty’s caption was one of 3 chosen from 115 entries for best cartoon caption. The caption eventually won and was published in The ABA Journal. http://www.abajournal.com/news/article/cartoon_poll_which_
